The Birches Pre-Primary was the Africa Regional winner for stage two of the School Enterprise Challenge 2013
We are proud to announce that we have won the Eco Logic Youth Awards 2013
On 14th March 2013 The Birches heard they had won the 2012 School Enterprise – South African Country Award. This Global Competition was ‘In recognition of the exceptional school enterprise established at this school and its contribution to developing business and practical skills amongst people in South Africa’
The school has flown the green Eco-school flag for more than ten years – since 2009 it has flown the International Eco-school Flag
On 10th September 2009 the school was awarded The MAIL & GUARDIAN Greening the Future award.
In December 2009 The Birches was awarded the Mayor’s Award for Biodiversity
The Birches received the Ethekwini Schools Award for ‘An Outstanding Contribution in the implementation of a Cleaner Environment’ from the Keep Durban Beautiful Association in 2008
One Planet Water Explorer – SA Global Sustainable Schools Award
The award entails the sponsorship of a Solar Water Geyser for the school so we are ‘over the moon’!
